Ironic Sephardic texts with their little bit of misogyny

In this latest work, Elena Romero (Madrid 1942) presents us with some humorous texts that They refer us to a past that is not so archaic, but mentally distant: that of the condition of woman in the Sephardic world of the first half of the 20th century.

This varied repertoire has the original title My capo of the year. Very fun bročhura containing the beautiful comic piece The Doctor by the great Hebrew scribe Salom 'Alejem. Advice to women. Maxims and Proverbs, eĉetre, eĉetre. It is likely that it was published in days close to Purim (perhaps 1930) due to the satirical nature of the texts included in the book.

The Purim holiday is the most joyful in the Jewish calendar, in which staff are invited to have fun, get drunk, dress up or play games of chance. Everything is allowed on Purim.

The background of the work follows the line of his previous publications in the Fuente Collection Clara: And there was light and it was not so good: The Sephardic couplets of Purim and modern times (2008), Los yantares de Purim: Sephardic couplets and poems with folkloric content (2011), and La Queen Esther in solfa. Sephardic Purim couplets on the biblical book of Esther(2021).
