Yom Hashoa 5777

Last Sunday all Jewish Communities of Barcelona commemorated Yom Hashoa in a joint ceremony in the El Fossar de la Pedrera de Montjuïc. The ceremony was solemn and emotive.

Different texts were read that we paid homage to the teachers and students of Warsaw Ghetto. In addition, candles were lighted in memory of the six million of assassinated Jews as well as in memory of other persecuted groups victims of the Nazis.

At the end of the ceremony, the children launched white balloons, as a symbol and message for a future of peace while the public sang the ‘Hatikva’.

We would like to thank the organizers, the participants and assistants, that made the ceremony full of feeling and memory.
